Muddy Brook Farm is a small permaculture-inspired farm in Middleburgh, NY.
We aim to create and steward a resilient, abundant, and diverse food landscape while also offering unique educational events and immersive farm-stays.
Our primary goal in 2024 is to transform our large field into an edible forest garden by planting native fruit and nut trees and many other perennial fruits and veggies. We are excited to showcase the wide variety of edible, medicinal, and pollinator-host native plants. We believe that producing food in a way that promotes soil health and biodiversity and does not rely on chemical fertilizers and pesticides is one small way we can help support a healthy climate.
We hope to meet the needs of our local community by providing educational workshops and small events, while also welcoming guests to the region with our cozy farm-stay experience. Whether through pop-up farm stands, dried flower workshops, or partnering with local practitioners to host wellness retreats, we hope there will be a little something for everyone.
We are also working towards the longer-term goal of hosting farm-to-table dinners, highlighting the unique foods we will grow in our forest garden. We are consistently inspired by the beauty of the Schoharie valley and ultimately hope Muddy Brook Farm can be a place to gather with friends, learn something new, eat nourishing food, and ground yourself in nature.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm!
We acknowledge that Muddy Brook Farm is located on the ancestral lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk people). We honor these First People and offer our respect to all Kanien’kehá:ka of the past, present, and future.
